About us:
We are a household of two friendly women seeking a housemate who will contribute to the warm and comfortable energy we’ve created in our home. It’s important to us that our home feels like home for everyone in the space. Cleanliness, adhering to COVID-19 safety precautions, willingness to share common areas, and respect towards all residents are a huge part of that. We are eco-conscious (recycling, turning lights off when a room is not in use, conserving electricity and water, etc. are important). We appreciate someone who would take care of this place as if this is your own. Both of us work from home starting at 6 am (one of us works in the living room and the other person works from her bedroom). If you also work from home, you will need to work from the bedroom.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is positive, friendly, easy-going, reliable, respectful, responsible, and can pay her rent and her share of the utility bills on time. We’re looking for someone who has an interest or experience living in shared or communal housing and wants to contribute to the warm and positive energy we have created in our home. We’re looking for someone who treats this as our collective home and not as a crash pad, someone who wants to put down roots in a safe, stable and peaceful home situation, and doesn’t mind sharing common areas. We’re looking for a good person who is mindful of shared spaces and keeps all common areas clean without needing to be asked. Good housekeeping and respectful communication skills are important. We’re not a commune, co-op or co-housing, but there is definitely a sense of “household” and “home.” We prefer someone who is social, but is well past her partying days. No smoking, drugs, vaping or excessive drinking allowed. We prefer chemically scent-free or mostly scent-free products inside the house. We all share in the cleaning responsibilities of our home. Having a very high level of cleanliness is extremely important. Everyone is expected to clean up after herself and leave all common areas sanitary, neat and clean. We leave things clean and as well-ordered as we found them. Being familiar with composting and separating recycling correctly is important. Most important is that you clean up after yourself, can communicate and share space well, treat everyone with kindness, respect and consideration, and are self-aware. We don't care if you're a morning person or a night owl, as long as you're respectful and quiet from 9 pm to 7 am.
Corona-Culture:
It is extremely important to live with someone who takes necessary precautions with COVID-19 to keep herself and others safe. We are trying to find a good balance of being careful, without being overly anxious and paranoid. We have done a good job of coming to consensus about risk tolerance. This means washing our hands when we return home from the outside world, regular disinfectant cleaning, entertaining visitors outside in the backyard as much as possible. Sorry no overnight guests are allowed in order to keep everyone safe.
Important Considerations:
* No pets allowed
* Street parking only
* No EV charging available
* Single (one) occupant only
* No garage storage except for one suitcase or one bicycle
* While we are not a scent-free house, we prefer light/natural scents
* Strictly no smoking or vaping of any kind inside or around the property
* All housemates actively participate in household chores, including cleaning of all common areas
About Plum Place:
Plum Place is the perfect balance of housemates who are respectful, responsible, clean and considerate, while still having fun. Our home environment is clean, positive, safe, and we communicate respectfully with each other at all times. Plum Place is an intentional household and we are all conscious and empathetic to one another's feelings and boundaries. Our household values include positive intentionality, willingness to share common spaces, and respectful non-violent communication. Quiet hours are 9 pm to 7 am. Plum Place is a very clean, well-maintained, safe, positive, drama-free, drug-free, and smoke-free home for someone who wants peace at the end of the day as well as a quiet place to study and/or work. Life is too short for drama so we try to keep things simple and communicate respectfully at all times. Everyone does cleaning as needed in between and we share common spaces.
About Martinez:
Martinez is known as a small town with a big heart! Downtown Martinez is undergoing a revitalization while preserving the historic value of the community. Enjoy antique shops, a beautiful marina area with lots of walking paths, darling boutiques and lots of dining options close by your home with over 100 restaurants! Made famous by baseball player "Joltin'" Joe DiMaggio, Martinez is a safe, family-oriented small city of 36,348 on the banks of the Carquinez Strait. First settled as a trading post in 1849, Martinez is one of the oldest cities in California. The gold rush, shipping, and railroad booms brought prosperity to this town at the gateway to the Delta. Mediterranean-, contemporary-, and traditional-styled homes in the city are situated on expansive lots of land. The tree-lined streets of downtown Martinez's shopping district, a popular destination, retain their charm. Today the vibe is low-key, relaxed, and friendly, with a weekly Sunday farmers market, a lovely marina, and a bounty of shopping, dining, and beautiful hiking trails with amazing views (Mount Wanda and Briones Regional Park).
