Just screw on a light bulb and plug it in. It turns on once you plug it in so you have to use some sort of switch to turn it or or you have to unplug it.
Previously it was a touch sensor light and I took out the touch sensor. You can buy the touch sensor to replace & turn it back to a touch light.
