Monument is a co-living and event space in SOMA that connects creative people across all different fields. Our current residents include fine artists, performers, academics, engineers and CEOs. We are looking for new housemates who are interested in a community with different worldviews and who would be excited to contribute their own. We like people who are kind, smart, curious, and driven. Personal responsibility is a must - no leaving dishes in the sink!

Our living room is a legal 400+ person event space. Our events include figure drawing sessions, art salons, science/tech talks, live music performances, circus shows, and raves. You can expect a couple casual events each week, and a large-scale event every month or two. Bonus points if you're interested in hosting your own or helping out!

About our residents: We currently have a dozen residents in their 20s to 40s. We hang out with each other often, though most of us also lead active lives outside of the house. There are often friends from the fine arts, tech, circus, and queer scenes stopping by. Many of us have worn many hats professionally -- some of us are just getting started with new careers while others are renowned in their fields.

About the house: There are 22 private bedrooms/studios upstairs with shared bathrooms, and 2 suites with private bathrooms and kitchenettes. Downstairs is our event space, a large communal kitchen, and many project rooms. Amenities vary based on residents, but currently include:
- A home fitness center with shared equipment including weights, a pull-up machine, and a boxing bag.
- 2-story aerial rigging and Chinese pole [to be used by/with professionals only]
- A sauna.
- A woodshop and crafts room.
- A movie room.
- A music/games room.
- A laundry room.
- A spare guest room for friends to stay in.

About your room: Available rooms range from $1000 for the smallest [110sqft] to $2200 for the largest [180sqft]. Basic furnishing available. Utilities are $150/person. Couples are welcome to share a room.

COVID: We expect residents to be transparent about COVID symptoms.

Location: Super conveniently located two blocks away from the Civic Center BART/MUNI station. It's overall a safe neighborhood but not for the faint of heart. There are grocery stores, including Trader Joes and Costco, restaurants, and nightlife within a 15 minute walk.

Other info: No roaming pets. No smoking indoors. Street parking only, we have a loading dock for temporary use. All residents participate in a monthly chore shift [1-2 hours] and a monthly house meeting [1-2 hours].

Residency: We happily offer short-term sublets for 1-3 months. For longer-term residency we typically begin with a 3-month sublet to ensure community fit.
