What is the Job?
A Senior Software Developer on our team works with 4-8 clients on custom solutions implemented in varying technologies (.NET, Salesforce, PHP CMS's, etc.). There are two main types of development work - creating and implementing something new and optimizing an existing solution. Our Software Developers enjoy participating in the full development process from working with the client to clarify use cases and requirements, to designing and implementing the solution, to supporting testing, and then deploying the solution. A bit more specifically, a Senior Software Developer:
Designs and implements programming solutions in C#/.NET/MVC and/or Salesforce without oversight
Is part of the multi-national Scrum team, often the Product Owner, uses JIRA to organize and delegate tasks and communicate with Scrum team and clients
Participates in Sales Engineering an escalation point for the team, assisting others when they encounter blockers
Provides thought leadership to the Software Development team
Independently manages his/her time and tasks
What's the Work Breakdown?
50% Product Owner Non-Technical tasks:
Client Facing Work: Working with clients to clarify requirements, help with testing, vision and architect the future of the solution, understand the client's business operations, strategy, and vision
Team Facing Work: Collaborating with the ECHO project team to share requirements, feedback, etc. via meetings, JIRA, chat
25% Product Owner Development tasks:
Strategize on the high-level design/architecture of the solution
Oversee teammates' work, that it fits with the client's needs and solution overall, that work is done to high programming standards, guide the team on development strategy for the client
Doing the actual programming work
What Echo is Looking for:
The ideal candidate has experience in programming and consulting roles, which provides a balance of understanding the client perspective and also being able to implement solutions.
In terms of technical skills, the ideal candidate:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Developer
Has demonstrable experience with Microsoft C#/ASP.NET
Has demonstrable experience with Salesforce administration, Apex, and Lightning development - or - ability to learn Salesforce Development and business application
Knows how to create and utilize stored procedures in MS SQL Server
Has experience with DevOps and application deployment
In terms of non-technical skills, the ideal candidate:
Has leadership qualities and inspires confidence in the team and clients
Has strong interpersonal skills and easily alternates between technical and nontechnical language
Is creative, intellectually curious, solution-oriented, and likes a fast pace
Takes ownership of his or her work and impact on a project, client satisfaction, and the success of Echo as a company
