Senior Software Engineer (Wage Offer: $166,800/yr): Design, code, and modify software and web applications to ensure the successful deployment and development of geospatial data and technologies. Design and develop frontend software applications to serve internal users, including prototypes using JavaScript, React, and related technologies. Build back-end software written in Go and Python. Work closely with product managers , and software engineers to create pull requests, write tests, and code reviews for all libraries and applications that the team is responsible for. Build and maintain services and software development kits (SDKs) to support Planet’s growing platform for the maintenance of production systems. Operate our Kubernetes and cloudbased services and databases. Implement holistic testing strategies to assert excellent developer experience, including unit integration, end-to-end tests, and deployment solutions. Provide geospatial expertise to the team and to assist with customer / sales escalated support.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field. 1 year of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation.
SKILLS: Must have:
1. Experience with geospatial technologies and data (cloud-optimized GeoTIFF, GeoJSON, STAC, XYZ tile servers, OGC APIs, and PostGIS) and common tools ( QGIS or ArcGIS Pro, ESRI services, or Earth Engine).
2. Experience with remote sensing imagery.
3. Experience with full stack web application development (Databases, Services, Web) and designing public-facing Application Programming Interfaces.
4. Experience scaling and maintaining production systems.
5. Experience with DevOps tools (Kubernetes or Docker).
6. Experience with the Go or Python programming languages.
7. Experience with HTML and CSS.
