I hired Nick to do some electrical work for me which he did fully to my expectation, with the assistance of his son who works with him. They worked late into that particular evening to get the electrical work done, but it was a bit late to re-do the drywall. We scheduled Nick to come back a few days later, but he ended up having a conflict when the time came. We rescheduled and he offered to complete the drywall at no charge. When he (and a different assistant) spent 5 hours completing the drywall, I wasn't going to take him up on the offer of the free work, but he insisted, asking only that I cover the cost of his assistant.
Stand-up guy who did exactly what I asked of him. And he's quite a personable character to boot. I would have no problem recommending Nick to a friend.

Nick is an amazing, talented and incredibly honest handyman!! His hourly wage is very fair and will go the extra mile to ensure everything is complete. Also, very professional!
First Fix: We called him right after we moved into our new apartment in RussianHill to handle a leaking shower faucet. Ask and you shall receive! He was quick, prompt and got the job done on the spot. He even left to drive and pick up the proper faucet and hardware, and came back to fix it all in 1-2 hour time frame. We didn't have to to reschedule and have him come back out. This was a huge relief with our busy schedules!
Second Fix: We were so happy with his services we called him back in the winter to fix our wall heater that needed to be repaired. Again, he was thorough at determining what had caused the heater to fail and was able to describe the and show us the coils that were no longer functioning. He gave us a quick and fair estimate on the replacing the heater. It was go! He ordered a new heater and was back to install in less than a week. The job actually ended up taking 3-4 hours to cut out, cut wood, and plaster the area around the new wall unit. It was time that he did not include in his estimate, yet was not willing to leave unfinished and looking poorly. He NEVER asked us for an extra dime. With all the time, effort and extra work he did to make our living room wall heater look, he never made us feel like we owed him more than his original estimate. Of course, we offered tickets to a ball game and he very humbly excepted!
Third Fix: We AGAIN needed help fixing our bathroom drawer that wasn't closing properly. He was so flexible with scheduling (as always!). We had to cancel on him a few times during the week with our work schedules, and he was very understanding. He doesn't normally work on the weekends, but he took an extra trip out to fix the drawer. And, of course, while he was here he noticed we still hadn't painted the wall from where he installed the heater- unfortunately, we had just been too busy! He kindly offered to paint and texture the area, while he was here. It LOOKS AMAZING and we are SO HAPPY with his work!
Also, what you should also know, is that we live in a very inconvenient location on Russian Hill. We have to take two elevators and stairs to get to our apartment. He has never complained about lugging all his gear in and out. He also never charged us extra for the time it took him to bring all his equipment up and down. He is such a great guy and so personable! We all always call Nick for help. We're so relieved to have a dependable and honest handyman.
