If you’re looking for your new home with all the charm of Victorian San Francisco, here it is, Honey! We have a room available November 1st (or sooner if needed) in our beautiful, two floor, 3bd/2ba Bernal Heights Victorian with a large private garden and two faaaabulous roommates, steps from Holly Park and the magic of Bernal Heights.
The Room:
The available room (unfurnished) is the only bedroom on our wonderful main floor. 10ft x 13ft, it opens into the light filled dining room and common space, has a closet and classic Victorian built in dresser and mantle with a North facing window, lovely fresh warm gray paint and hardwood floors. A private spot in the attached garage is also available if needed for an additional monthly fee.
The House:
What can we say? It’s a dream! 1894 classic standalone Victorian house, one of the original farmhouses in Bernal Heights. Our space is two floors, 2,100 sq. ft, high ceilinged, and filled with southern light. The main floor has original hardwood with parquet inlay throughout, a large living room, dining room, huge open kitchen with green marble countertops, breakfast nook, balcony with a gas grill, and marbled bathroom. The lower floor has the other two bedrooms, a second bathroom with clawfoot tub, and large storage area with washer/ dryer. Many original Victorian details including stained glass, light fixtures, wainscoting, picture molding, and a lovely porch on the West entrance. The whole house is surrounded by an enclosed outdoor area (we share no walls with neighbors!), perfect for a furry companion. The upper unit is occupied only two weeks a year by the wonderful owner, who lives overseas. Our home is a one-of-a-kind historic oasis that offers privacy, comfort, and convenience.
Bernal:
We are in the sweetest part of Bernal, on the south tip of Holly Park. There’s ample street parking that doesn't require a permit, public transit (the 23, 24, 14, and a 15 minute walk to Glen Park Bart/ Muni), and we’re a 10 minute walk to Cortland Ave. Cortland has all the shops, restaurants, bars, and charm you could want in an SF neighborhood (our favorites are Vega, Wild Side West, and El Rio). The Alemany Farmer’s Market (every Saturday) and Flea Market (every Sunday) is a 10 minute walk. We’re close enough to everything to live a full city life, and far enough removed to enjoy it.
About Us:
C: 33 is a year old queer artist and performer working in ethical foundation operations, part time WFH. Social demeanor with a playful and respectful disposition. Enjoys dinner parties, seeing shows/movies, meaningful conversations, cooking, and nature time of all sorts.
D: I’m a 36 y/o from NY who has been working as an artist in SF for eleven years. I own a local art space in a historic building in the Castro, photograph fancy parties and nightlife, make many things and wear many hats. My interests are as varied as my schedule, and as a small business owner I’m frequently out of the house, but have a strong investment in warm, open, considerate social vibes in my home. We steward a magical space out here, and I’m excited to grow our little family with someone who appreciates open, direct, and caring communication as much as they enjoy the history and culture of S.F. 💛
We are both very active in our lives, and home is most often our quiet haven. We have occasional dinner parties and gatherings, but rarely bring the party home (and never without checking in first). The vibe is right and we want to share it with you. This house is filled with laughter, and we care deeply about supporting and communicating with each other and our community.
