Ideal Roommate: Respectful and kind and you know what you need to be happy cohabiting with roommates. We’re ideally looking for someone who has a busy schedule that’ll have you mostly out of the house, and we will be paying for more of the rent due to using common space and such more heavily. You don’t need to love all kids, but our kid needs to think you think he’s great when your paths cross!
Location: Transit Happy! Very close to Excelsior Library. We have buses coming every 1-5 minutes just outside our door; it's fairly easy to get around town or just about anywhere else within the city. It's also a short 10 minute ride or 12-15 minute walk to BART. If driving, there's street parking typically available within a block. Plenty of solid markets for fresh produce and all else within a block or two, along with a bigger Safeway about 10 minutes away. Laundry-wise, we mostly have 'delicate' clothing we hand wash. We do have a spinner and dryer, but there's also a laundromat literally across the street. We’ve considered adding a portable washer and dishwasher, but would first have to add a compatible faucet—something we’d love, but haven’t yet done. Neighborhood is more on the quiet, small town with dense city transit vibe.
Apartment: 2-3BD apartment with a split bathroom (no waiting as someone else showers!). We keep it fairly warm, both with wool rugs and a gas heater / PG&E (included). There’s a small yard with dining table and hammocks. We also have plenty of training equipment you’re welcome to use (squat rack, barbells, plates, gymnastics rings).
Room: This room is located at the ‘back’ of the apartment. It’s a little colder at night than the rest of the apartment and is not as private/well insulated, as we need to walk through created ‘hallway’ to access the yard at times. Willing to talk through specifics and compromise, but price has been lowered accordingly.
Price: $950/month, which includes PG&E. We’re paying more than our split share, but due to expecting to use the common spaces more than you do and are looking for someone who’s mostly out of the house / living our pre-kid lifestyles. If you have a different schedule, let us know if interested the specifics of your situation!
If interested, please share some more about yourself, a bit about your schedule and when you’d be home, what you look for in roommates, when you'd be interested in subletting in terms of frequency and dates, and more generally why you're looking. Place is available now. Happy to talk and share more about ourselves during a call!
