Hello! I'm renting out a bedroom in an apartment in the far outer sunset, ~500 steps from the water at Ocean Beach, right by Java Beach Cafe at Judah (but not directly along the N-line, so MUNI noise is barely audible). Must be ok with dogs :) The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 shared bathroom.
The Room:
10x10’ with a decent-sized closet
Private door to balcony area and down to backyard (good space to use for extra storage, can set up a little patio area as well)
Shared bathroom with me (but the upside is there are two sinks, so you’ll have your own space) + tub/shower combo
The Apartment:
Lower unit in a two-family house, but still up one floor from street level. There is one person in a small cottage in the backyard as well. Total of 5 people sharing the yard space and laundry.
Kitchen with gas stove/oven, dishwasher, and pantry storage.
Furnished living room with TV, couch, board rack
Street Parking - ample! But like, actually. The unit is along the lower Great Highway with all its glorious parking.
Shared pay by app washer/dryer downstairs.
Shared Backyard with upstairs. It gets good sun (when there is sun to be had)
Internet: $20/month per person
Gas/Electric: ranges from $30-60 per person (unit has central heating, but I tend to rarely use it)
Water and Recology are included in rent.
Neighborhood:
Outer Sunset - La Playa Street between Judah and Irving. <1 block to the beach, 1.5 blocks to GG Park, half a block to the N line.
About me:
she/her. early 30's. I work full-time M-F on-site at Cal Academy as a diving safety officer.
I’m an early riser (5/6am) and am in bed by 9/10pm, but no worries if you’re a night owl. I’m out of the house ~7:30am to 4:30pm M-F, and spend my free time surfing, hiking, and walking the neighborhood with my dog.
Kai is a very sweet, loving 6-year-old shepherd mix. He’s very good at chilling all day with beach walks in the morning and evenings, and he’ll be your best friend. The apartment is ESA-only, and I think it’s best to keep it to a one dog household, although I’m open to changing my mind for the right fits. Not cat-friendly, sadly.
I like to keep the space clean.
I make simple meals, so I’m not a heavy kitchen user. Vegetarian.
420 friendly. Very occasional drinker. No hard substances.
I see the apartment as a nice peaceful place to come home to.
Seeking roommate who:
likes dogs and coastal living (and appreciates all the quirks that come with it)
wants a mutually respectful, peaceful, communicative living situation
is not a super partier
is financially dependable with on-time rent/utility payments.
I'm cool with having friends over/occasional guests/overnight guests as long as they're not at the apartment excessively (same applies to me and my guests)

The rental is month-to-month, with a preference for someone looking to stay at least three months but ideally longer term, as long as the first few months go well. Looking to fill the room by December 1st. Earlier is ok as long as the landlord has time to conduct the background and credit checks.
