~180 sq ft room in bright, airy Victorian top floor flat that is available September 15th or sooner. Share home with a vegan, non-smoking, professional man and woman (a couple) in their early 60s and late 50s. We have inherited an indoor/outdoor tabby cat.
The flat:
Perched on the side of a hill in Corbett Heights, enjoy views to the south and the east from sunlit rooms and a little deck. The flat has an airy feeling and warm energy, with 11' ceilings, fir floors, and tall double-hung windows. This is a space to call home, a cozy sanctuary.
This area of San Francisco is pretty central and sunnier than most. Transportation is easy, and it’s a short walk downhill to the Castro/18th street strip and the Castro Muni station (F, K, L, M lines) as well as the 24, 33, 35, and 37 bus lines.
Abundant street parking. Bicycle parking in the garage.
Spacious living room with tall bay windows.
Marble bathroom with lots of natural light and a smaller half bathroom.
Very large, sunny kitchen with big windows that overlook Eureka Valley.
Back deck and hammock room.
Modern gas stove and fridge/freezer. Dishwasher
Front-load washer and dryer in building (no payment required).
It's a shoes-off, shared chores, quiet, and eco-friendly home.
We split the utilities, including WiFi, three ways.
About the available bedroom:
Unfurnished, approx. 15'6" by 10'9" room with windows on both west and east facing walls, fir floor, and lots of shelves/storage space. It has a non-working fireplace along the long wall, so it is not a symmetrical space and you’ll want to measure it carefully for larger pieces of furniture. It is next to the kitchen.
About us:
Him: unruffled professional and a Zen Buddhist/yogi with a Harley.
Her: works at a nonprofit, likes to go backpacking and do yoga.
We both like peace and quiet and are early risers / sleepers.
Both of us are vegans. Laid back but expect equal effort in keeping the place clean and tidy. We have our own lives but enjoy a quick chat in the kitchen.
About you:
Respectful and responsible person who takes care of their own stuff - around the house, financially, emotionally. (I know, we all say we want a good communicator. But, we do, it makes a gigantic difference. Please be direct and honest.)
While we would appreciate having another vegan in the house, it is important to us that our roommate is at the least a vegetarian. It’s not just a diet thing, but is a lifestyle for us.
