Flour + Water Hospitality Group in San Francisco is hiring a bilingual (English/Spanish) HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT. This is an excellent opportunity to join a great working culture in a unique, dynamic, fast-paced environment with a growing restaurant group.
The FWHG Human Resources Assistant supports our Chief People Officer and restaurant managers with administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Human Resources Department, and the support of happy, healthy and productive members of the Flour + Water Hospitality Group team. Key responsibilities include: preparation of employee onboarding/exit packages and employee lifecycle documents, maintaining HR and personnel files, assisting with HR-related reporting and compliance tasks, processing HR mail, fielding employee payroll and HR related questions, job postings, document translation, and helping to serve as a bridge between English and Spanish speaking employees.
This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, can work both independently and as part of a team, and has the ability to juggle many projects at the same time. This role requires handling high volumes of confidential paperwork with precision and efficiency.
Required Attributes:
• Spoken and written fluency in both English and Spanish
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent certification/work experience
• Minimum 1-2 years HR experience. This need not be in a full time HR role, however significant exposure to CA labor laws and HR policies and procedures is required
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace
• Experience with Paylocity, or similar HRIS system
• Systems and process oriented with obsessive attention to detail
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as an effective communicator
• Must be comfortable and experienced working in a standalone environment
• Ability to be both an independent thinker and team player
• Outstanding work ethic and ability to manage a heavy workload, prioritize well and meet deadlines
• Dedicated to continued learning and self-development
• Engaging and enthusiastic personality that naturally connects with others and can build strong relationships with all levels of employees and management
• High level of discretion and confidentiality
• Excited and motivated by a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Prior restaurant experience strongly preferred
This position is an hourly, non-exempt, part time (approximately 20-25 hours per week) role. The work will be primarily on-site in our San Francisco office in the Mission District, with occasional travel requirements to our other restaurant locations in SF and Oakland. This role has high growth potential to take on more hours and responsibility over the next six to 18 months.
Compensation and Benefits: Hourly compensation starts at $28 per hour DOE, daily staff meals, medical, dental and vision coverage (full healthcare paid at 24+ hours/week), EAP, basic life, 401k, restaurant dining discounts, annual education and art grants, and more.
