Moderator & Customer Support Specialist (remote work optional)

HubPages is an open community where people create media-rich articles on anything they know and love and can earn money through ads displayed on their articles. The site has over 40 million visitors monthly and over 40,000 users. We are looking for an enthusiastic Part-time Moderator and Customer Support Specialist to join our team. This person will help maintain a high standard of quality of published content on the site and assist users.

Do you have sound judgment and exceptional policy enforcement skills? Are you passionate about online communities? If so, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • 25-40 hours per week, remote or in office (flexible schedule, must reside in California)
  • Review recently posted and community flagged content for policy compliance quickly and effectively
  • Troubleshoot and identify bugs or user related issues
  • Exude patience and positivity when providing support to users

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, with excellent spelling and grammar
  • Capable of objectively assessing content and minimizing personal bias
  • Capable of reviewing sensitive and offensive content
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • At least one year of relevant professional or recreational experience with user generated content and online communities

Preferred, but not required:

  • BA/BS or current college student
  • Experience with software testing or quality assurance
