DON'T ASK IF IT'S AVAILABLE. I DELETE THOSE STUPID MESSAGES. 😎
Dream guitar seeks new home. I've had a blast playing it, but it's time to let this be enjoyed by the next player.
1947 Gibson L-12
- Huge 17" body
- Sunburst finish all over — on the front, the back, the sides, even the neck
- Spectacular maple figuring on sides and back, old growth carved spruce top
- Includes original hard shell case — functional with string, but hinges are busted.
This gem of a vintage Gibson plays extremely well, currently strung with new Martin phosphor bronze .012 strings, and sounds fantastic — loud, like a horn section! I will include the flat-wound Tomastik jazz strings it previously had, which also sound amazing.
The pickguard is included but is not mounted; it suffers typical decay of this unstable material. Sale includes the mounting hardware too, and you can pursue an aftermarket guard if that's your thing.
This guitar has remarkably little wear and is in great condition, with a big fat Gibson neck, plenty of life in the frets & fretboard, a full 25.5" scale (compared to most other Gibsons at 24.75"), and the kind of charisma that only exists in a real piece of American history.
Serious inquiries only, please.
