This vintage push button telephone from Radio Shack will work during a power outage, since it does not require external electricity. If you have a twisted pair landline (or an internet modem with uninterrupted power supply), this phone will work, even when the lights are out.

Using the Phone Instructions
Connecting and Disconnecting Calls:
Press the switchhook to disconnect a call.
Adjusting the Handset Volume:
Adjust the handset volume to a comfortable listening level.
Setting Up the Phone:
Plug the handset cord into the jacks on both the handset and the base.
Switch to the type of service you have:
If you have pulse (rotary) service, you can switch to TONE during a call to use tone services.
Set the ringer to:
High or Low volume, or turn it off.
You can still make calls with the ringer off and receive calls if you hear another phone on the same line ringing.
Using Special Functions:
Hold: Press HOLD to place a call on hold. You can place the handset on the cradle. To return to the call, press the switchhook or lift the handset.
Flash: Press FLASH to produce a timed switchhook signal for special services (like Call Waiting).
Note: If you don’t subscribe to any special services, pressing FLASH will have no effect.
Redial: Press REDIAL to dial the last number called (up to 32 digits).
Memory and Phone Numbers:
Use the memory index card to record important phone numbers.
Ending a Call:
Press RESET to end a call without returning the handset to the cradle.
