I’m selling my beloved 2007 Yamaha Majesty 400, which has been my trusty daily rider between San Francisco and Daly City. It’s covered just 14,733 miles and always felt right at home in city traffic or cruising on the highway. I just wrapped up a full tune-up—including fresh fluids, air and spark plugs, and belt inspection so it’s running its best. The tires and brake pads each have only about 2,000 miles on them, and the battery is eight months old. This scooter seats two comfortably, offers a spacious under-seat storage compartment, and easily holds its own on freeways at speeds over 80 mph.

Under the sleek bodywork you’ll find a 395 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine putting out around 35 hp through a CVT automatic transmission with belt final drive. The 3.7-gallon tank and fuel-injection system deliver roughly 55 mpg, so you can expect about a 200-mile range on a single fill. Braking comes from 267 mm discs front and rear, and the suspension telescopic fork up front, twin shocks in back soaks up potholes and freeway expansion joints with ease. With a seat height of 29.5 inches and a curb weight of 432 lb, it’s surprisingly nimble and confidence-inspiring.
