My name is Jarrett, I’m a multi-instrumentalist musician and educator with over 20 years of experience. I am offering private drum lessons to youth and adults, with all skill levels in a studio location in San Francisco.
I provide a fun and engaging learning environment. Students and I will focus on rhythm, timing, and "getting in the groove" on the songs of their choice. We will learn a variety of drum exercises in various genres: latin, funk, jazz, pop, rock, etc. I will play bass guitar with students to help orient to the groove and song structure. Playing bass allows students to synchronize with rhythm, to listen for melodies and musical cues, and to enjoy playing "in the pocket" with another musician. Learning to play the drums is fun, engaging, and a great way to develop musicianship and focus.
