We’re looking for an organized, creative, and people-oriented Studio Manager to lead day-to-day studio operations, support staff, and ensure an inspiring and smooth experience for our students and families.
Position Overview
The Studio Manager oversees the daily operations of the Maker Studio Kidz location, ensuring classes, camps, and events run efficiently and that the studio environment remains organized, welcoming, and safe. This role combines leadership, coordination, and creative problem-solving — perfect for someone who enjoys working with kids, managing teams, and keeping creative spaces running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Operations
- Oversee daily studio activities, ensuring classes, camps, and events are properly staffed and prepared.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and studio setup for all programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring creative environment.
- Open and close the studio as needed and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Team & HR Management
- Supervise, schedule, and support teaching artists, assistants, and event staff.
- Manage employee onboarding, training, and time tracking.
- Support HR functions including recruitment coordination, employee documentation, and performance check-ins.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and creativity.
- Help mediate workplace concerns or conflicts in collaboration with leadership.
Customer Experience
- Greet and engage families, handle inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage registration, payments, and communication for classes and events.
- Address parent or participant concerns with professionalism and care.
Program & Event Coordination
- Support setup and logistics for workshops, parties, and community events.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to improve class flow and project organization.
- Assist with marketing tasks such as gathering photos, social media updates, or coordinating with vendors.
Administrative Support
- Track attendance, staff hours, and supply budgets.
- Maintain scheduling tools, databases, and records in Notion or similar platforms.
- Communicate effectively with the leadership team regarding studio updates or needs.
- Use Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms to organize data, maintain schedules, and streamline communication.
- Utilize third-party software to manage and publish upcoming classes, camps, and events, and maintain systems to track client information and attendance.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in studio management, education coordination, or HR/people operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience supervising or training staff in a creative or educational setting.
- Understanding of basic HR processes (onboarding, documentation, scheduling, performance feedback).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Positive, solution-oriented attitude with an eye for creative detail.
- Experience working with children ages 4–13 is a plus!
- Proficient in Google Drive and Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar).
- Must have availability around holidays.
- Own car and license preferred.
