California King size mahogany bed frame (Pottery Barn Sumatra style) and McRoskey mattress; solid wood with wooden slat supports. Mattress has always been used with mattress pad. Discoloration on mattress is from bed slats (the mattress if made from natural fibers, so turning is required from time to time).
