Super interesting refurb on what is likely a late Meiji period chest. In as sourced condition (previous owner had it on industrial stands as two side tables) which is leaning slightly fair as some of the wood pieces are loose and two of the adornment for the top drawer need to be reattached. Cool, speckeled/beveled mirror top (loose so you can stack either way). Commonly found with the inset drawers covered by a swinging "safe" door. Overstatement piece or tuck it away in your quarters for an extravagant dresser. Drawers do work well enough for regular use, but does need some love here and there to make it sturdy and functional for storage.
