About the Designer:
. An icon of early modernism, Eileen Gray was among the pioneers who reshaped design in the 1920s and 1930s. Working alongside contemporaries such as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, and Marcel Breuer, she distinguished herself through innovative use of tubular steel and a multidisciplinary career spanning furniture and architecture. Her influence has been recognized internationally, including her appointment as Royal Designer to Industry by the Royal Society of Art in London and the inclusion of her Adjustable Table E 1027 in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
