I am changing the color scheme at my place and offering a wonderful original painting by the established Romanian artist Justine Ivu (Geanina Iustina Ivu-Vlad). This piece, an abstract exploration of a musical instrument (a cello or violin), showcases her dynamic fusion of Cubist fragmentation and vibrant Expressionist color. The composition features a strong, luminous golden-yellow central form set powerfully against deep, contrasting blues and violets.
This authentic work is signed and dated 2002—a significant year for the artist, marking her entry into the prestigious Romanian Fine Arts Union. While Ivu is perhaps best known for her oil paintings, this is a distinct acrylic on canvas piece from that pivotal early period. The paint is applied thickly, creating a palpable, energetic texture (impasto) across the surface.
