Rusty Ladle is a cozy soup-and-sandwich spot in the Outer Sunset, known for thoughtfully prepared seasonal soups (like Bodega Bay–style clam chowder, vegan tomato, and rotating weekly specials). We’re a small, welcoming fast casual counter-service restaurant with an artistic touch and a strong commitment to quality and community. About the Position:
We’re looking for a dependable, hard-working BOH team member to support both dishwashing and food prep. The person in this role will help keep the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring cleanliness, speed, and care in preparing our soups and sandwiches.
Responsibilities:
Wash dishes, cookware, and utensils to maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.
Prep ingredients for soups and sandwiches (chopping, portioning, measuring).
Assist with basic prep tasks (peeling, cutting, assembling, making cold line items).
Keep Line stocked with hot soup (reheating), hot dogs and any other hot items.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness (sweeping, wiping walls, cleaning equipment, mopping, taking out trash).
Help with receiving and organizing deliveries.
Support food safety protocols and proper storage of food.
Help FOH staff B\bus Dishes and wipe down tables when needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
2–5 years of related kitchen experience, including dishwashing and heavy prep work.
ServSafe certification required.
Basic food prep and cooking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
Motivated to be organized, learn quickly and grow in a professional, team-oriented environment.
Work Schedule:
Full time Monday - Friday
