The Petite Auberge and White Swan Inn are looking for a hard-working, vibrant and reliable Bellperson to join our team!

Located at the cusp of Union Square and Nob Hill, the Petite Auberge and White Swan Inn offer an enchanting oasis in the heart of the city. They are sister boutique hotels located next door to one another, each with 26 guest rooms. In addition to the warm and personalized guest service, we offer a full buffet breakfast and wine hour daily.

We are looking for team players who are warm, enthusiastic, and take pride in their work. Our Bell persons offer quality, friendly, professional service to guests, in addition to assisting guests with luggage, requests, and maintaining clean common areas.

Essential Experience/Aptitudes:
• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as removing guest luggage to/from automobiles and guest rooms.
• Grasp, push or pull heavy loads, and lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage weighing up to 75 lbs. continuously throughout shift.
• Stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
• Enough manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring walking significant distances on property.

Job Responsibilities:
• Assist transporting guest luggage, as needed
• Assist in locating guests lost luggage.
• Correctly tag, store and retrieve luggage from holding room
• Identify and explain hotel facilities and features to guests while escorting them to their room.
• Identify fire exit closest to guest’s room and explain safety features of assigned room.
• Demonstrate use of room key to guests and place luggage inside room.
• Maintain basic knowledge of the hotel's amenities and offerings
• Maintain accurate knowledge of scheduled functions within the hotel to direct guests to correct locations.
• Maintain some knowledge of local attractions and activities to recommend for guest inquiries.
• Relay accurate directions to guests on inquiries of transportation within the local area.
• Maintain accurate log record of guest calls for Bell Person assistance.
• Answer bell stand telephone within three (3) rings using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
• Handle guest complaints immediately.
• Retrieve guest laundry/dry cleaning from their rooms and deliver to appropriate location.
• Deliver items to guest rooms promptly
• Monitor and maintain appearance of lobby areas and luggage holding room as well as polish/clean brass luggage carts.
• Assist guests with unloading/loading of vehicles, guest requests and services, retrieval of theater tickets, flowers, etc.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests even when busy.
• Place rollaway beds and refrigerators in guest rooms.
• Deliver extra towels, bathrobes and other items to guest rooms.
• Legibly document maintenance needs on Second Effort log and submit to Manager.

Essential Physical Abilities
