Devil’s Teeth bakery is seeking an overnight addition to our band of bakers!
We’re a small bakery originally from the foggy Outer Sunset. This position is for an experienced full time overnight baker (9PM-5AM, 5 shifts/week) at the Embarcadero location in San Francisco's Financial District, our third and most recent addition to the DT family.
Best known for our buttermilk biscuit breakfast sandwiches, our seasonally rotating menu includes sourdough, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, quiches, muffins, cookies, cakes, scones, and dog treats (a favorite with neighborhood pups). We’re looking for experienced applicants who love to bake and are ready to learn to join our tight-knit crew.
Duties include but aren’t limited to:
• Primary bake (biscuits, bread, cakes, quickbreads, muffins, scones, cookies, lemon bars, brownies, etc.)
• Mixing batters and pastry/bread doughs
• Dough lamination and pastry work
• Light prep work (processing and cooking produce for recipes)
• Decorating and garnishing (icing cookies, frosting cakes)
• End of shift clean-up
Requirements:
• 2+ years experience baking in a professional setting
• Availability to work overnight shifts (9PM - 5AM), including weekends and some holidays in a full time capacity (5 shifts/week)
• Proficient with back of house workflow and using commercial kitchen equipment
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work both as a team player and independently
• Strong attention to detail, self-directed and organized
• Knowledge and practice of safe sanitation
• Ability to work cleanly and efficiently, multitask, and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours; reach (above head) and bend (below knees) to access shelves in tight spaces; and lift 50lbs multiple times per shift
• CA Food Handlers certificate within 30 days of start
• Proof of identity and citizenship/work status
• Verbal & written English proficiency
