When it comes to buying a turntable, it's better to avoid shipping because turntables have many delicate mechanical moving parts that can be damaged during transportation. Not to mention the fragile dust cover. Therefore, I'd recommend buying locally when you can test and personally carry the turntable to your car to ensure its safe transportation.
