EAG Studio is seeking a highly technical, systems-oriented, and AI-forward Draftsperson / BIM Technologist to join our growing practice.
This is not a traditional drafting role. This position sits at the core of our production ecosystem and is responsible for elevating drawing quality, accelerating workflows through AI integration, and ensuring all documentation meets EAG Studio’s rigorous graphic, typographic, and code standards.
You will work closely with the Principal, Project Managers, architects, and designers to translate design intent into highly coordinated, clean, buildable Revit documentation, while simultaneously building and refining AI-driven systems that streamline redlines, plan corrections, as-built conversions, and internal standards compliance.
As a Draftsperson / BIM Technologist at EAG Studio, your responsibilities will include:
• Converting as-built drawings into clean, organized EAG-standard Revit models
• Integrating AI tools to streamline redline incorporation and plan corrections
• Automating repetitive documentation workflows wherever possible
• Reviewing drawing sets for graphic consistency, font compliance, and titleblock standards
• Ensuring strict adherence to EAG drafting conventions and visual hierarchy
• Coordinating architectural drawings with structural, MEP, and consultant models
• Supporting permit resubmittals and comment responses with high-speed, high-accuracy revisions
• Developing and maintaining Revit templates, families, and detail libraries
• Identifying inefficiencies in production workflows and building AI-based solutions
• Assisting in standardizing internal QA/QC processes
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a rare hybrid of precise technician, systems thinker, and AI integrator — someone who sees drafting not as drawing lines, but as building intelligent systems.
You are deeply detail-oriented, highly organized, and energized by improving processes. You care about fonts, lineweights, view templates, and graphic hierarchy as much as you care about automation and efficiency.
You are someone who:
AI & PROCESS INTEGRATION
• Actively integrates AI tools into daily drafting workflows
• Seeks automation before manual repetition
• Builds systems for redline ingestion and correction tracking
• Develops structured approaches for converting as-builts into standardized Revit models
• Identifies patterns in recurring corrections and builds AI-assisted templates
• Thinks in terms of scalability and long-term efficiency
REVIT & TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE
• Has advanced proficiency in Revit (modeling, families, view templates, detailing, worksharing)
• Understands construction documents, permit sets, and consultant coordination
• Produces clean, accurate, and buildable drawing sets
• Maintains impeccable file organization and naming conventions
• Enforces consistent typography, graphic standards, and sheet composition
• Understands California residential and commercial code documentation requirements
GRAPHIC & DOCUMENTATION STANDARDS
• Ensures correct fonts, text hierarchy, lineweights, and annotation styles
• Maintains consistent graphic standards across all drawing sets
• Conducts internal QA/QC reviews before issuance
• Protects brand integrity through drawing quality and consistency
• Has a refined eye for visual clarity and technical accuracy
COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION
• Works closely with architects and project managers to interpret redlines
• Communicates clearly and efficiently about corrections and coordination issues
• Accepts direction quickly and implements feedback precisely
• Maintains steady output in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
• Is calm, disciplined, and solutions-oriented
MINDSET & GROWTH
• Enjoys refining systems and building smarter workflows
• Takes pride in precision and speed
• Is curious about emerging AI tools and production technologies
• Appreciates structured standards and disciplined processes
• Operates with accountability and consistency
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Draftsperson / BIM Technologist plays a central role in maintaining the technical and graphical integrity of all EAG Studio projects.
PRODUCTION & MODELING
• Develop and maintain Revit models from schematic design through permit and construction
• Convert consultant and as-built files into clean EAG-standard models
• Draft plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules with accuracy and consistency
• Coordinate models with structural, MEP, and specialty consultants
AI-ENABLED WORKFLOW OPTIMIZATION
• Implement AI tools for redline interpretation and correction tracking
• Develop internal AI workflows for plan review and QA
• Automate repetitive drafting tasks where feasible
• Assist in building AI-driven template systems for future scalability
• Continuously evaluate emerging tools that improve speed and accuracy
QUALITY CONTROL & STANDARDS
• Ensure compliance with EAG fonts, titleblocks, view templates, and sheet standards
• Conduct internal drawing reviews prior to issuance
• Maintain and update firm Revit templates and standards
• Track revisions and maintain organized version control
PERMIT & CORRECTION SUPPORT
• Incorporate city comments and plan check corrections efficiently
• Assist in preparing resubmittal packages
• Ensure documentation clarity and consistency for agency review
