Early Yale-issued first baseman’s mitt with faint YALE collegiate stamp and B30
model marking. Classic late-1920s/1930s design with a flat-face pocket, deep heel,
rolled edge piping, and original wrist strap (torn). Leather shows age and wear
appropriate to its 90+ years, and the maker’s mark and lettering are faded. Still a
solid piece with excellent display presence and strong Ivy League collector interest.
Note: Multiple glove collectors have confirmed this is a first baseman’s mitt, not a
catcher’s mitt. This style predates modern webbing and features the transitional
one-piece face used in the 1920s/30s.
