This is an amazing collection of San Francisco and Bay Area history from the Alessandro Baccari family estate of San Francisco. In addition to three large scrap books containing history regarding the Eureka Federal Savings banks chain of sponsored museums in the 1970’s and 1980’s and the events and achievements of the Bacardi family, there is a large collection of framed and unframed photographs and posters featuring many famous photographers.
Alessandro Baccari was responsible for procuring, cataloging and exhibiting the photographs, artifacts and memorabilia that were displayed at the EFS museums. Many of the photographs are from the North Beach museum depicting the early life of Italians in San Francisco particularly, life as fishermen in an around the SF Bay.
His son, Alessandro Jr. and his life and achievements are also part of the collection. He ran for Supervisor in 1963 during Jack Shellys successful run for Mayor of San Francisco. It is an interesting glimpse of politics and of the 1960’s culture.
This collection is offered only as a complete set and is for pick up only. Many of the photos are referenced in the books with information of there location and of the photographer. This would be a wonderful addition to any SF History organization, museum or SF historian.
There are approximately over 25 framed photos of various sizes and three large scrap book included. Due to the limit of the photos,I'm unable to add additional images. The framed photos themselves are well priced and a easy profit for resale!!!
