These are maps that were few and far between, that were sporadically placed around the Presidio to show you exactly where you are.
A rare and original map from the San Francisco Presidio that was used to show the layout of morale, welfare and recreational facilities in the park. In 2002 the the U.S. Army turned the Presidio over to the National Park Service and the Pentagon had decided to close its commissary, post exchange, and discount stores that have served military families for decades. It made this map obsolete. Close-ups show the facilities available and its relationship to the Golden Gate bridge and southern Marin County.
Measures 31" x 31" square, in the frame, behind glass.
