We repair your eShifter - pending it has good gear gussets and a case without cracks.
This repair includes a replacement eShifter circuit board, installed and in stock in the USA. Typical turnaround is a 2-4 work days after we receive your unit.
Our service solves the Error 44 on VanMoof S3 and X3 e-bikes. The failure is typically caused by water ingress into the eShifter, which shorts the internal logic board.
Important: This is a mail-in repair of your existing eShifter. This is not a sale of a circuit board. We install the replacement board, lubricate gears, waterproof the housing, and fully test the shifter before returning it.
How to prepare your eShifter for removal
1. Remove the rear wheel

Note: Do not lose the small plastic spacer washers on the chain-guide tensioner. If you remove the other 4mm bolts from the chain-guide mount, attached to the frame’s chain stay, the washers will remain in place vs the process the video uses which will cause the washers to fall out.
2. Remove the eShifter from the rear wheel

3. Inspect the eShifter housing where the axle passes through the center hub.
If there is a crack, we can supply a replacement outer case for an additional fee.
4. If there are no cracks, purchase this eBay listing for the repair.
You will receive shipping instructions via eBay Messenger. You ship the unit to us at your expense.
5. Repair time is within 5 business days after we receive your eShifter.
We prefer USPS Priority Mail with no signature required in both directions.
6. This purchase includes the return shipping label. You will be notified when the unit ships back, and tracking will be available through eBay.
What the repair includes
• One new replacement circuit board sourced from Europe, with enhanced conformal waterproof coating
• Silicone-greased internal gears (many factory shifters contain little or no grease)
• Resealed housing to prevent future water ingress
Additional notes
• If you have already replaced your eShifter, we buy non-operational shifters for $50 provided there are no cracks.
