This is a practically new set of Shimano RS11 wheels—taken off a new bike after purchase and stored indoors since. No issues whatsoever. Braking surface is pristine. These are perfect for keeping your nicer wheels fresh for race days, or just having a strong, fast, good-looking everyday set ready to ride. Also these make a solid upgrade/replacement over stock wheels found on most entry- to mid-level road bikes, and are especially well-suited for everyday training, winter riding, or keeping permanently mounted on your indoor trainer.
The RS11s feature 24mm deep aluminum rims that offer better handling in crosswinds compared to deeper aero wheels. To keep things fast, Shimano used bladed stainless steel spokes—16 front and 20 rear—laced in a straight-pull configuration for extra stiffness and responsiveness under power. The rear rim also features a 3mm asymmetric offset, improving spoke tension balance and overall longevity.
As with most Shimano road wheels, the hubs use angular contact cup-and-cone bearings—preferred by many for their smooth spin, rebuildability, and ability to better handle real-world road loads. Maintenance is easy with basic tools.
Specs:
• 700c clincher for rim brakes
• 15mm internal / 20.8mm external rim width
• 130mm rear / 100mm front quick-release spacing
• Shimano HG freehub for 8/9/10/11 speed compatibility
• Weight: ~1848g
• Rim wear indicators, rim tape, and quick release skewers included
I was hoping to keep the Tiagra 10sp cassette for one of my projects.
