The Ksyrium Elite line was introduced in the early 2000s as a lighter, more affordable sibling to the flagship Ksyrium SSC SL. Even so, they inherited much of the advanced design that made Ksyriums a household name in performance cycling. With their blend of low rotating weight, stiffness, and ride comfort, the Elites quickly became one of the most popular wheel upgrades under $1,000.
They were commonly found on premium road bikes of the era, including the Trek Madone, Specialized Tarmac and Roubaix, and Bianchi racing models. The understated black finish with bladed spokes gives them a timeless look that complements both modern and vintage-inspired builds.

• Made from Maxtal aluminum alloy, exclusive to Mavic for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio
• Shimano/SRAM 8–11 speed freehub
• Standard quick release: 130mm rear / 100mm front
• 20 front / 18 rear stainless steel bladed straight-pull spokes
• Mavic system hubs with sealed cartridge bearings (serviceable, spin smooth and fast)
• ~13mm internal rim width (typical for the era)
• Finish: Black with machined brake sidewalls
• Condition: Close to NOS/demo – rims are true, spoke tension even, braking surfaces nearly untouched, no dents or hops
Cheaper sets exist, but very few come close to this condition. The braking tracks are clean, hubs spin effortlessly, and cosmetically they present almost like new. For collectors, restorers, or anyone who wants a reliable and lightweight wheelset true to the early 2000s high-performance road scene, this is a rare opportunity.
