Herreshoff designed schooner Kia Ora for sale. Great live aboard, cruiser, maritime events, and schooner races. We are growing older and it is time to find new owners who will love her as we have. The places, the stories, adventures, new ports, hiddy holes, friends, waterfalls cascading down from glacier peaks onto our decks, the orca who swam with us and reached out to feel the hull and scratched the paint, phosporus glow under moon lit passages, .... Been to Mexico 3 times, Hawaii, Alaska. Sleeps 5, fireplace, professionally built by Latimer Boats works in Seattle, finished out in Port Townsend. Built 1980. Cruise at 8 knots 1 gal per hour. Draws 5 feet. lots of room on deck for charter sailing. cabins 2 inch mahogany, masts 10 inch fir, hull professionally built ferrow cement, low maintenance and easy to get insurance for. Does not smell like a rotting wood boat. an remain at the slip in Pleasant Harbor Marina on the Hoods Canal for new owner.

Large sail inventory, rigged to be sailed solo. I sail it all the time solo. Offset prop-port side. Herreshoff design 257 JoAnn was created as a stable coastal schooner for Caribbean reef sailing in shallow waters. 50 ft on deck with 10 ft sprit plus dingy 5 feet. Draws 5 feet.

The Kia is always the prettiest boat in any harbor because she is a Herreshoff design. A magnet for day-sailing charters. Very well known in the Pacific Northwest and I run into many people every season who helped build her. We race, we cruise, we get lost in the fjords of nowhere, safe, quiet, sails steady in rough waters. Afterall she is a schooner.
