This large hardcover atlas was published by Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc. during the early 1940s (copyright 1942, 1943, 1944). It features detailed physical and political maps, geographical comparisons, a glossary of terms, and extensive summaries of world spheres of influence.
Of special interest, this edition was compiled and revised in the midst of World War II, so the maps reflect political boundaries, colonial territories, and global alliances as they stood in the 1942–44 era.
