In excellent condition. Just had the (hydraulic disc) brakes replaced - new rotors and pads. The bike has 1,319 miles on it (see photo), almost entirely on paved roads. It has never been taken ‘mountain biking’. Occasional brief dirt road in Golden Gate Park (to cross over to paved roads). My son used it for school/work/trips to the gym. He has gone away for college and the bike is now taking up space. Medium sized frame - for riders that are 5'7"-5'11". It is pedal assist, but I need to clarify on this topic…. I used to have a mid drive pedal assist, and this rear hub motor behaves a bit differently. By virtue of just moving the pedals forward one tiny bit, the motor wants to take off and go, so it almost feels like a throttle under your feet.
There are two price options….. I have the exact same bike with an older battery (range of 10-11 miles on full power mode) my son’s newish bike battery has a range of almost 20 miles on full power mode. The two price options (older or newer battery) are available to accommodate your choice, depending upon how you intend to use the bike and how far you want to take it on a single charge. Please note, the battery range can be significantly increased when you use the bike on a lower power setting. Settings range from 1-5. If you want to use the bike for leisurely recreation rides, you can use setting #1 on flat terrain and it feels almost effortless to ride. If you use the top #5 setting, the bike can go just shy of 28 mph. It is fast and needs to be treated with caution and respect. Front fork suspension. Not to sound like a salesman, but I get a lot of compliments on my bike when I am out and about.
These bikes are $4,795 new. With that, the two price options for this bike are:
$2,000 with the older battery
$2,600 with the newer battery
Charger is of course included with the sale.
A new battery from Vintage Electric is $999
Please note, my bike is several years old and the battery still has a range of about 10 miles. I have been using it almost daily.
I live in the Sunset and commute to Bayshore/Geneva for work.
Bike lock seen in photo (mounted on top bar in front of seat) is not part of the sale.
If you are interested in trying out the bike, please let me know the best days/times that work for you. I am generally free M-F after 4pm and variably flexible on weekends.
