Vintage 90’s rigid steel GT mountain gravel go anywhere do anything bike that we did a bare frame up rebuild on with all updated and new parts and is ready for an adventure.
Lightweight but strong tapered double butted Tange Infinity cro-moly steel tubing with GT’s famous triple triangle frame design with forged dropouts and fork ends. Well thought out frame with a nice long wheelbase for stability and comfort but not too slouchy chainstays so it has pep, fits fat tires, and has braze-ons for racks, fenders, and baskets.
This was the Tequesta model but there’s not one original part left on this bike, we built it with a lightly used higher end Suntour XCD group, new chain, new cables, new pads, new threadless stem conversion, new grips, new sneaker pedals, updated klunker style wide bars, updated front V-brakes, bottom bracket and headset bearings cleaned and repacked with fresh grease.
Drivetrain is very smooth, shifts easily with everlasting thumb shifters, wide range gearing from go fast gears to hill climbing, and the updated V- brakes are very strong. We fit 2.125” tires, plush and comfy. You can of course install thinner tires if you want more speed and might be even able to go fatter if you want even more cush.
Everything is clean, tuned and tight, we went over everything on this bike so it should be good to go for some time. Versatile bike that can be every day commuter, your city and country explorer, your grocery getter, or your camping bike.
Very pretty bright blue paint is shiny and looks good, the previous owner did some touch ups here and there so it isn’t perfect but there are no dents or signs of stress.
These old steel frames are truly made to last and are endlessly updatable, really fun do it all forever bike!
This is a big boy and is harder to find, every time we do a smaller bike we get a request to do a tall one so here it is! With the riser stem and bars, the reach is more upright and easy so as long as you can stand over 33” you can ride it, best for 5’10” with long legs to 6’3” or 6’4” with average or shorter legs.

I am flexible and can meet near at the Potrero Center parking lot on 16th St, at Grocery Outlet or BART near 24th St, at the Church and Market Safeway in the Castro, or Chase Center in Dogpatch/Mission Bay or I’m sure we can find a good spot.
Thanks!
