The Ruby was part of Specialized’s push into more women-specific geometry—before “women’s bikes” just meant “men’s bike minus a few cm.” When it first launched, Ruby was seen as a breakthrough: it combined the road handling and responsiveness of Specialized’s race frames with a softer, comfort-tuned ride tailored for a smaller rider. In fact, the Ruby name started surfacing in 2007 as one of the first serious carbon bikes built from the ground up with women in mind.
Its slightly shorter top tube and taller head tube create a more upright and relaxed fit, making it ideal for endurance rides, fitness, or weekend adventures. The FACT carbon layout tuned for vibration damping paired with Zertz vibration dampers and a carbon fork for a smoother ride on rough roads.
This Ruby Comp is built with a Shimano Ultegra 6800 2x11 speed drivetrain, featuring a compact 50/34t crank and 11–32t cassette for a wide range of gearing. It rolls on DT Swiss built 700c clincher wheels that spin smooth and true. Fresh Easton bartape.28mm tires are brand new.

I collect and restore vintage bikes, and I enjoy bringing gently used more recent models back to like-new condition. It’s always rewarding to see them back on the road, helping people stay active and reduce car use. I also offer repairs and tune-ups for the bikes I sell - please check out my Instagram - sfbikemarket.
