When it came out S-works Tarmac SL was a game-changer. Designed for elite-level racing, it features a unique process where carbon monocoque sections are joined as one, resulting in outstanding stiffness-to-weight ratios and a frame under 900g. Tarmac quickly earned a reputation as one of the best-handling and quickest-climbing frames.
Every new Tarmac generation improves on that legacy, 2016 S-works Tarmac also offers “Rider-First Engineered™ design - every frame size is now dialed-in to have the same targeted stiffness, compliance and control characteristics. Highest quality FACT 11r carbon fiber is used to manufacture the frame. Fork lateral stiffness is also improved allowing for better acceleration and control.
This bike is built with Dura Ace 9000 Di2 2x11-speed groupset: shifters, derailleurs, and brakes, with a wide-range Dura Ace 12–28t cassette and Dura Ace 53/39t crankset.
Wheelset is the lightweight and fast HED Ardennes+ SL (25mm width , MSRP: $1,150) clincher, spinning smooth and true, with Continental Gatorskin black editipon tires that still have tons of life left. Braking surface on the rim shows minimal wear.
Other premium touches include: S-works carbon fiber seat post, S-works saddle, full carbon S-Works monocoque fork, Ritchey stem.
52cm, best for riders roughly 5’5” to 5’8” tall. Everything’s tuned, clean, and ready to ride. Battery charger is included.
