Here are two 60-year-old souvenir pillow covers. One is from Martinique made of black velvet with white, silk-screened illustrations. It measures approximately 17” x 17.” The illustrations feature the sites of Fort-de-France, including its centre cité cathedral. Copy, printed in an off-red, tells you the names of the sites. The back of the cover is a solid color red cloth, quite uninteresting.
The Lackland Air Force Base pillow cover is made of white satin and has a piece of corny poetry dedicated to “Mother” on it. What that has to do with the AFB is beyond me. The rest of the pillow is a number of jets zooming left and right. In the photo here, there appears to be pinkish color on the pillowcase. It's from the red pillow beneath and is bleeding through. This pillow case, too, measures approximately 17” x 17.”
