Charles Eastlake was an architect whose designs predominate the Victorian homes in San Francisco. He also designed the furniture that he felt was appropriate for his style of architecture. His earliest designs, circa 1870's and 1880's, were the most detailed and ornate to be found. His furniture designs were very popular and were imitated beyond the turn of the next century. Unfortunately, shortcuts were taken, simplified in the interest of profits.
The detail and design of this mirror reflects the best of his early work.
This magnificent example of Eastlake Victorian furniture is priced at $600, cash only, please.
