Original Disney Studios piece from 1953's "Peter Pan": Sericel, or Serigraphic Cel, is a form of Animation Art. The line work for these cels is xeroxed and the paintwork is printed on the reverse side of the cel. They are created in limited and unlimited editions by Disney artists in limited issue.
In the 1930s, the Walt Disney Studios used a then-innovative animation method: artists drew on celluloid sheets, or “cels,” with ink, and then placed these cels over painted backgrounds. This technique not only transformed the look of animated films, but it also made the production process more efficient.
This piece has been in storage the entire time for over three decades - perfect condition. Black frame, white matte, measures 22.5wide x 19.5high, certificiate of authenicity is attached to the back side in protective sleeve.
My original purchase price 30 years ago was $250, but selling for the same price just to get to an appreciative owner. I've seen some used/slight wear for $200 or so, but some pristine ones like this one are $500-2000.
The title on this is "THE FAB FIVE PRESENTS 'PETER PAN'" There's five Disney characters dressed as five of the Peter Pan characters.
