In the early 18th century tea was still quite expensive and was mainly enjoyed in upper class homes. Serving tea was a hospitable way to welcome a guest and display your affluence. Tea tables became a popular piece of furniture to those who could afford them and were usually accompanied by other luxury items like tea caddies, imported porcelain cups, & sometimes kettle stands. The table has a Mahogany dish solid top while the base is masterfully carved into claw feet. The top can also be tilted down for easier storage. Can also be used as a kettle stand, wine stand, candle stand and tripod table. Dimensions: 20 5/8"D x 26 1/4"H. Perfect for antique furniture collector and people who enjoy the finer things in life.
