BLUE MOON, also know as BLUE NUDE, is a very rare VARGAS continuous tone lithograph that was offered in the lowest limited edition numbers of any VARGAS authentic releases. Originally created in 1928-29, while he was living in New York City. After his passing, his niece found the painting in Peru where Vargas was originally from. He had moved back there in his later years to visit his family.
I acquired this gem directly from representatives of the VARGAS estate in November of 2001 and the Certificate of Authenticity is signed by his niece, Astrid Vargas-Conte, the heir of the VARGAS estate, and numbered VR 12/15.
