This is a signed limited edition etching of the house in Salmannsdorf, Vienna, Austria in which Joann Strauss composed his first waltz. This was the summer home of the Strauss family. Josef Streim, the maternal grandfather of Johann Strauss's son, bought this property in which the six-year-old Johann in 1831 composed and played "First Thought" – his first waltz. It was 36 bars long.
Charmingly, the artist has added a sketch of Strauss playing the violin.
