ABOUT THE ARTIST
"Eileen Seitz was born in Midtown Manhattan June 28, 1951. Her artistic world began when she was eight years old. At age thirteen she won a first-place award for an oil painting in a New York City street art show. At sixteen she sold her first oil painting to a New York City art dealer. She attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y studying Fine Arts in drawing, oil painting and watercolors.
In 1968 she began her travels. So far St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Key West, Mexico all of Central America, Columbia, Kauai, Eleuthera, Nassau, Paradise Island, St. Marten, Tortola, Jamaica, Maui, Hawaii, Oahu, St. Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Anguilla, Barbados, Trinidad, Tobago, Guadalupe, Taveuni-Fiji, Beqa-Fiji , England, Belgium, Amsterdam, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Sicily, Corfu, Portugal, Spain, Montenegro, Dubrovnik, Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahiti, Raiatea, Rangiora, and Nuku Hiva, all inspired and continue to inspire ideas for new works. The truth and beauty of these places is overwhelming and feeds Eileen’s artistic soul.
In 1981 she moved to Coconut Grove, FL. 1982 began to self publish her paintings as art cards, posters, s/n limited editions and mini prints bringing her artwork to the world. Several years ago, she expanded her artistic talents by designing and having made hand tufted and hand carved 100% New Zealand Wool Rugs. She began a line of her hand painted textile designs on 100% beautiful rayon fabric.
For the past 46 years, Eileen’s paintings have received numerous awards, commissioned as well as purchased for theater and television, national and international hotels, resorts, banks, restaurants, airports and cruise ships. Many have been chosen and published as art festival posters. Besides her many private collectors some of her public collectors are: Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Walt Disney Corp, Blancaneaux Lodge, Belize CA, Plantation Inn Hotel, Jamaica WI, Couples Resort, Jamaica WI, Md Anderson, Houston Texas, Health Central, Ocoee Florida, Caneel Bay Resort St. Johns, Carambola Beach Resort, St. Croix, Peter Island Resort, BVI, Maho Beach Resort and Casino, St. Maarten, Daily News Building St Thomas, Radisson Blu Resort, St. Marten, Coconut Grove- Fiji, Taveuni, Fiji, and American Airlines Admirals Club, Miami International Airport, Miami Florida, La Vista + La Vista Beach Resort, St Maarten."
