This iconic deluxe chrome-plated domestic countertop stand mixer from the 1970s (based on the Service N°) is a sister to the model enshrined in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History but with a brown rather than a black open-ended handle and 12-speed MixFinder dial.
This item has been tested and is both in fine working order and in practically near mint condition aesthetically, save for a small, unobtrusive chip in the base of the Bakelite handle where the beater release is located (highlighted in accompanying photos but normally occluded mostly from view when looking down in the course of operating the mixer). This appears to be a purely cosmetic flaw and does not affect the locking or the orbital movement of the handle when releasing the beaters.
This appliance is for sale as is: i.e., only the stand and the tilting motor head—which disconnects from the former for use as a hand mixer—are available. Turntable, beaters, and pair of stainless steel bowls are not included (though one can easily find replacements of these components inexpensively online). Given its age, a comprehensive oiling of the motor head is recommended and should extend the life of the appliance considerably.
