This is similar to the 'Magnabend' magnetic clamping folding machines, except with the addition of two very powerful pneumatic cylinders to do the actual bending. Touchscreen interface (partially in Chinese!). A push of the button starts the bending cycle, similar to a press brake. It magnetically clamps the stock and activates the dual pneumatic cylinders to do the actual bending. It works well. It is also adjustable for angle using sensors on the cylinders, but that is not automated. Unit runs on 220v single phase, 20A circuit, plus typical shop air for the pneumatic cylinders.
We bought this unit during COVID lockdown when our local CNC sheet metal fabricator closed due to the lockdown and we were left with no way to build our sheet metal prototypes. It served us well for our projects at the time and we built early prototypes of our Toolracks for Tormach CNC mills with it. We now work with another fabricator so no longer have use for this tool.
It will bend 0.080-0.100" ALU at full width of nearly 25" (650mm) , and can handle heavier gauges at lesser widths. The back gauge is a little tricky to use and we wound up just using the bender for the excellent pneumatic bending capability without the back gauge (which does still function). It is not a full press brake, but it functions very well for lighter duty fabrication projects. It will bend bar stock as well as sheet stock, ALU and steel. It is fairly simple to make specialized clamping anvils for particular bending needs.
If you are a sheet metal fabricator with a small shop, this is a very cool tool.
