we have had so many responses but I think I need to re-clarify . We are not looking for a full time housemate. When you email me, tell me what nights you are looking for and I can get back to you cutting several steps out of the email process. The way this works is that you have your own bedding (including blankets and pillows) that only you will use. The nook will always be our guest bedroom and you may be sharing the space with another commuter. on a different night. Therefore, needing to leave a lot of things in the nook won't work. We can store your special chair or suitcases in the garage but I just want to clarify that we are not looking for full time tenants..
Here is the info:
we have a commuter room which is more like a nook, in our home that is available as a commuter space
A commuter room is set up for people who do not live in santa cruz but who need to be here for a few days a week every week. We have had a number of grad students and several professors who have used this as a commuter space. We charge 40.00 a night and that is payable by the month, not the night, For instance if you need to be here tuesday and wednesday nights you would pay 320.00for the month and those nights would always be yours. If you want two nights the price goes down to 35.00 a night. We have a closet you can leave a few things in and a drawer in the downstairs bathroom that would be yours.
The room is in a very quiet house that is tiptoe quiet after 10:30 and before 7:30. The nook is closed off by a 12 foot Asian screen. It has a twin bed completely encased, a reading chair, a small dresser and a small desk. Our house is spotless and healthy (no mold, filtered whole house water, no pesticides, and very very clean). You would have room in the fridge and cooking privileges.
You would share the upstairs bathroom for showering but have your own guest bathroom downstairs.
non-smoking, not even outside, please.
If you want a safe clean quiet place to stay a few nights a week, let's talk
We have had numerous staff, faculty and grad student guests if you would like references.
