Position: Security/Doorman
Location: The Mediterranean Bar, Aptos, CA
Shift: 9:00 PM – 2:00 AM Fri, Sat, Holidays
Compensation: $20/$25 based on experience
The Mediterranean Bar is hiring a reliable, professional Door Security / Bouncer for weekend nights.
Summary
The Door Security / Bouncer is responsible for maintaining a safe, controlled, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role requires someone who can stay calm under pressure, handle difficult situations professionally, and enforce house rules without escalating conflict.
Responsibilities
Check IDs and verify guests are 21+
Monitor the front door and control entry when needed
Enforce bar policies and house rules
Help prevent overcrowding or unsafe behavior
Watch for signs of intoxication and communicate concerns to bartenders or management
De-escalate conflicts before they become serious
Remove disruptive guests when necessary, using appropriate judgment and professionalism
Bus tables and clean spills as needed
Help ensure guests leave safely at closing time
Requirements
Must be dependable and punctual
Must be available Friday and Saturday nights from 9 PM to 2 AM and holidays (as needed)
Prior bar, nightclub, security, or door experience preferred
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to stay calm and professional with intoxicated or difficult guests
Good judgment and situational awareness.
Must be able to work late nights in a fast-paced bar environment
