One mile from UCSC, as well as Hwy. 17 & 101 on-ramps,
and less than that to our vibrant downtown restaurants and entertainment.
Room faces Monterey Bay with white cap and sailboat ocean and Boardwalk views and a wide expanse of Santa Cruz neighborhoods. The traffic noise of High Street is not a feature of this interior room.

This very long post about a UNIQUE living situation requires many details
if you are to accurately judge IF this is right for YOU.
Do not underestimate what either room provides so that you can judge the value.
One benefit, I doubt you have now is your bathroom is professionally cleaned
twice monthly - along with the kitchen and living room, etc.
Historically over 27 years, the hostess/proprietor (who lives off-site)
has provided a curated quality-living environment already well-stocked with dry goods for the shared needs of kitchen, bathrooms and laundry use.
This is a BIG step up in ease and value.
Call this a tasty recipe for those that seek a better experience in sharing a home.
ROOM THREE DESCRIPTION:
- Dimensions are approximately 12' x 15'.
- Abundant natural light. Three double pane windows face Monterey Bay with a big sky over the Bay and tops of trees and buildings.
- Pull down room darkening shade. Side window screens that raise and lower for clear view.
- IKEA cabinet allows organized clothes storage.
- Solid oak door. Two lamps on the walls, one with a dimmer.
- Ceiling: Vaulted/whitewashed tongue and groove wood.
- Floor: soft light tan carpet.
- Shares a wall with both the kitchen and the living room.
- The washer and dryer is nearby.
- The bathroom is shared with two clean and tidy men who occupy the other 2 top floor bedrooms.
- There's a big rainfall shower head.
- Kohler Bidet toilet seat with pushbutton features.
- Xfinity Pro - (fastest residential) both internet and Xfinity cable recordable 39" flat screen TV in living room, Multiple Google mesh Nests (fastest wireless you've ever experienced).
- Bi-monthly clean crew for your shared bathroom and other common areas and the service of the proprietor who waters plants, washes rugs, deeper cleaning, and empties the trash and recycling so waste doesn't pile up.
- Utilities of water, garbage and P G &E.
- Access to a secure weather-proof bike barn close to the street with plugs for charging bike batteries.
- Proprietor is on call via text for any questions A-Z and/or repairs with professional assistance.
- Convenient outer chamber at front door for discrete package delivery.
- Quartz counters.
- 2 new LG 20 c.f. refrigerators,
- 2 new GE & Bosh dishwashers,
- 2 digital Fagor European ovens,
- 4-gas burner top topped by high-capacity exhaust fan with bright LED lights,
- microwave, high-end blender, rice cookers, & toaster, electric kettle, etc.
- A double stainless-steel sink, garbage disposal, pull down multi-spray faucet,
- 2 more faucets for filtered water and dish soap.
- All dishware, silverware, glasses, cookware.
- Kitchen paper towels, hand soap, sponges, dish towels, etc.
- Varied comfortable seating, lamps to read by, table & chairs in front of bay view window.
- Flat screen 39" TV.
- Fireplace is not in use due to County air quality control requests.
- New front load washer and dryer come already stocked with sundry laundry detergents, etc.
- In late December there may be only 4 occupied bedrooms. Gender and age of others in place can be defined as male and 21 to 61 years.
- With six residents, even with very different schedules, a mindful approach to the shared spaces is required.
- There are House Rules along with the Lease that is written so it's understandable. This way everyone is on the same page.
- Q: Will you use the kitchen quietly after 10pm on Sunday - Thursday nights? This rule helps most everyone.
BOTTOM LINES:
- First month and a matching security deposit required.
- First deposit of $350 applied to the security deposit - reserves the room.
- Proof of income.
- No 1-year lease offered as both parties to the Lease must be satisfied prior to one year.
- Longer term is always a plus as it means less turnover/less administrative duties.
- Short term? Not less than 3 months as this is not a hotel.
- Ask about bedroom furnishings as some come with just a suitcase!
- House rules are that you MUST clean up after yourself (perfection not required) or you DO "get voted off the island."
- Any immodest alcohol or recreational drug behavior that impacts the house negatively such as you forget, or don't want to clean up after yourself or do not follow other House Rules means you leave sooner than you might wish.
- When you respond, please don't forget to include your upcoming date of desired move, how long you expect to need a room, if you have a vehicle, a bicycle and need bedding or any other furnishings.
